Today marked the staff performance of "What 1776 Means to You and Me" which means that all four Touring Outreach Shows are ready to rock and roll on the road!
The first show that was rehearsed was "The Emperor's New Clothes" directed by Amanda Pasquini and assistant directed by yours truly! This was a really cool opportunity since it allowed me to work on staging and choreography for adults in a phenomenal environment. I had an absolute blast getting to have a bit more responsibility on this show while still getting to learn how to put up a show in five days.
The second show that was rehearsed was "What 1776 Means to You and Me" directed by Brian Kurtas and I got to be the assistant stage manager for this show. I was in-and-out of the rehearsal space a lot due to my other job responsibilities but getting to see this show go from its initial first draft to being a fully realized production was such a treat! This show was also unique in that it's aimed towards a middle school and high school audience rather than the elementary school audience the other three Outreach shows are geared towards.
These four shows being up and running means we're officially at the halfway point of my apprenticeship which is both a scary and exciting thought. Only four months left!
