It has been such a busy two weeks for me due to a program called Disney Musicals in Schools. This was created by Disney Theatricals to bring theatre to elementary schools. The program teaches schools how to build their own sustainable theatre program and culminates with performances of a thirty minutes "Kids" production of a Disney show. Every year, the Walnut brings two schools into the program with two teaching artists per school. This year Hamilton Disston chose to do "The Jungle Book Kids" with Kaity Cherchasky and Molly Hoffstader as the teaching artists and Marian Anderson chose to do "Aladdin Kids" with Lindsey McCue and me as the teaching artists. In addition to the school performances, schools are also invited to the Walnut Street Theatre for Student Share. This gives all schools in the program the opportunity to perform for each other on the Walnut's MainStage doing two numbers from their show in addition to a group number titled "It Starts With a Dream." Lindsey was Aladdin's Director and Music Director while I was the Stage Manager and Choreographer. As far as programming goes, this has been such a fun experience getting to see there students approach theatre for the first time. Yesterday was opening night for Aladdin and it was such a wonderful show! Their joy and enthusiasm has been infectious and I'm so glad this was part of my apprenticeship.

Bonus points if you find me in the video!
