These past few months I got to teach the classes 101: Kids Acting for Ages 5-7 and 102A: Kids Musical Theatre for Ages 5-7 with an incredible co-Teaching Artist, Lindsay Marcus at the Walnut Street Theatre. This was our first time teaching this class together and I have to say, we did a fantastic job in my totally unbiased opinion. Together, we taught students the fundamentals of acting and musical theatre, various techniques and games, as well as songs, dances, and story creation. For the acting class the students worked together with me and Lindsay to create a story about critters living under the sea and discovering friendship while the musical theatre class learned three songs! They danced to Jolly Holiday and sang and danced to We Don't Talk about Bruno. It was adorable!
Later that day I got to perform in my friends Mia Canavan and Val Calderone's senior project, "Phineas and Ferb The Musical." For the past few months they have been writing, choreographing, and directing a 75ish musical adaption of the TV series "Phineas and Ferb." I played Jeremy Johnson, a neighbor of the Flynn's and the love interest of Candace. It was an absolute blast and I'm so glad I got to work with such a talented group of people.
