Congratulations! You're now reading the first words I, Connor Shields, college graduate has written. The former college student known as Connor Shields has vanished and won't ever be seen again (I don't think it's a lie this time but check back in a few years lol).

If I thought last year was a roller coaster, this year puts that to shame. Student teaching is not for the weak but I truly can say that it was an absolute blast and I wish I had more time with my students, CT, and the school. If only I could stay there longer... tehe

While my attention may have been on the cool stuff happening at GCIT, I've also had some craziness happen this time around! Last year I was lucky enough to be awarded the Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Award for Outstanding Excellence in Performing Arts Education by the College of Performing Arts Medallion from the College of Performing Arts. This year, I was awarded the Leonard L. Mancuso Award for Excellence in Secondary School Student Teaching Medallion from the College of Education. It's an incredible to be awarded one medallion, so the fact that I somehow earned two? It's such an encouraging and gratifying feeling getting recognized for the work I put into my work and I'm not going to forget all the people who helped me get to this position.

Now that my time at Rowan is over I'm definitely going to miss it - it's been my home for the past five years. But I'm ready to start the next phase of life and take on whatever life throws at me!
