This weekend I got the cool opportunity to be an adjudicator at the New Jersey State Thespian Conference! I got a small taste of this event last year during student teaching due to the majority of my students competing in it - I got to give feedback on their pieces and help them grow and develop before the 2025 competition. Now this weekend I got to adjudicate in the Contrasting Monologues category which was neat!
Another great part of the festival was seeing a lot of friends, mentors, and former students! I ran into a handful of my college professors working either at recruitment or adjudicating, friends who were teaching, and former students who were competing. I also got to meet the "GCIT Student Teacher Family Tree"which was really cool. I'm part of a line of some amazing educators! While I'm upset I couldn't make it to the second day of the festival due to the snow making it impossible to drive safely, I'm glad I got a taste of it.
