The Rocky Horror Show: A Story of Redbull and Leather Pants

This past weekend marked the final performances of Rocky Horror at the Ritz Theatre Company. I loved coming back to the Ritz for this fantabulous and crazy show and it was an absolute blast getting to just goof off and embrace the camp that came with every performance.
This show was great in how it pushed me as a physical performer - the choreography absolutely ate down and it felt like a nonstop dance show from "Over at the Frankenstein Place" to the end of Act 1. Don't get me started with "Hot Patootie" because that number felt like a marathon all by itself. I was a Phantom meaning I had a lot of physical/movement-esque bits rather than dialogue which I loved! It was my first time getting to play a role in that way and it was such a fun challenge.
But even more challenging than being more movement oriented was having to stay awake for the midnight show! We did a two show day on Halloween, one at 8:00 PM another at Midnight. It was incredibly fun and the audience was feral in the best way possible. But I was definitely running on Redbull. I also had to be at work EARLY the next morning so I was running on fumes when I got there and the post-work nap hit!
I'll leave the review here in case you're interested: https://southjerseytc.wixsite.com/sjtheatrecritics/post/sequined-glory-at-the-ritz-a-night-with-the-rocky-horror-show
