Teaching is Fun and I'm Exhausted
I just wrapped up another fall semester teaching at the Walnut! Once again with the incredible Lindsay Marcus, we taught 101: Kids Acting for Ages 5-7 and 102A: Kids Musical Theatre for Ages 5-7. We had a mix of repeat students and newbies which was amazing. It was such a cool experience seeing some of the more experienced students help out with a dance move or game every now-and-then. For the musical theatre class, we had the students perform a song and dance to The Jitterbu

Turns Out College Auditions Are Really Fun When You're Not Auditioning. Who Knew?
Something I get told a lot is that I overload my schedule between work, rehearsals, friends, academics, and self-care time. I'm essentially running non-stop 24/7. Take the Monet and Run!
The past two months of student teaching have been some of the most thrilling, chaotic, and wonderful experiences I've ever had. I got to work as the assistant director, helping students develop their characters and focus on objectives while delivering their lin

Let's Run It Back But Do It Differently
Back in May I said the former college student known as Connor Shields had vanished. However, he's now reappeared deciding that his BA wasn't enough and that it's time for grad school which started today! So I'm back at Rowan to get my MST in K-12 Theatre Education, ready for the challenges that will come with student teaching. I'm incredibly fortunate to be assigned to a phenomenal school in Gloucester County Institute of Technology with a superstar CT, Katie Knoblock. I've b

The Summer of Walnut
When I was figuring out my summer plans in January, I assumed I'd be working at the Walnut Street Theatre in their Camp Walnut program and occasionally popping into my school's Admissions Office where I work as a tour guide. However, what I didn't expect was another three jobs to pop up too! The biggest surprise was getting the chance to join the Touring Outreach program for two weeks as an understudy for the role Marvin the Moth in the musical "Two Bugs Are Better Than One!"
