1776 Student Matinees!
Today was the last 1776 Student Matinee performance! This was a set of five performances the Walnut did for local Philadelphia area high schools. The past two weeks we've had dozens of high schools and between 3000 to 4000 of students come to the theatre to see free performances of the production. This was a fun challenge for me since I was the one coordinating between the theatre and the schools - I was reaching out and inviting schools, managing their bussing and seating ac

Celebrating World Theatre Day by Being a Bratty Emperor and a Silly Goofy Teacher
Yesterday was a bit of a wild ride! Typically I spend Friday’s at one of my two Adopt-A-Schools teaching kids grades K-5. However, instead of going to AAS I had two surprise understudy moments! I got to spend the day with some of the acting apprentices on tour to two schools, putting on Emperor’s New Clothes and What 1776 Means to You and Me! I got to play the role of the Emperor Nathanial the Nineteenth of Naradonia in Emperor’s New Clothes and Mr. Rush in What 1776 Means to

Royalty and History Lessons: Spring Outreach
Today marked the staff performance of "What 1776 Means to You and Me" which means that all four Touring Outreach Shows are ready to rock and roll on the road! The first show that was rehearsed was "The Emperor's New Clothes" directed by Amanda Pasquini and assistant directed by yours truly! This was a really cool opportunity since it allowed me to work on staging and choreography for adults in a phenomenal environment. I had an absolute blast getting to have a bit more respon

NJ Thespians: Theatre Education is Totally Awesome
This weekend I got the cool opportunity to be an adjudicator at the New Jersey State Thespian Conference! I got a small taste of this event last year during student teaching due to the majority of my students competing in it - I got to give feedback on their pieces and help them grow and develop before the 2025 competition. Now this weekend I got to adjudicate in the Contrasting Monologues category which was neat! Another great part of the festival was seeing a lot of friends
